Porofarago in Greek is "the entrance of the gorge" and this tavern justifies its name since it is located exactly at the entrance of the gorge of Imbros.

The view from here is fantastic and as the owners claim one can see even the island of Gavdos when the sky is clear.

The real Sfakian specialties (Sfakian pies, tsigariasto, etc) that the tavern offers will give you the necessary power to cross the 7km long ravine while the owner will help you with any information required for a safe pass.

You can also buy their products : cheese, yogurt, honey, raki, wine and sheep's meat.
